The conference will be held at the Studentenwerk Oberfranken on the university campus. Here you can find a general map of our campus, and here a Google map, with the conference venue and the bus stops marked. On the university website, there is some more information about the university, the city and its history.

How to get there

By car

  • Leave the A9 (Nürnberg-Berlin) at the exit Bayreuth Süd in the direction of Bayreuth Stadtmitte/Universität.
  • Follow the signs "Universität".
  • Free parking is available on the whole campus.

By public transport

  • Take a train to Bayreuth main station (Bahn).
  • In front of the station, you will find taxi stands and bus stops.
  • If you want to take the bus (which is a good idea since you can do a little bit of sightseeing), cross the street and wait for a bus (lines 3, 5 or 9 to/via "Z. O. H." (Zentrale Omnibushaltestelle)) at the stop Löwenapotheke.
  • From the Z. O. H., you can either take line 4 ("Birken/Universität") or line 6 ("Campus/Hohlmühle") to the uni ("Mensa" or "Uni-Verwaltung"). Busses to the uni start from platfom 'K' every ten minutes. If you have taken the bus from the main station, your ticket will still be valid from the Z. O. H. to the uni (valid 30 mins). On the bus, you can not only buy single tickets but also a so-called "Mehrfahrtenkarte", which you can use eight times for 10 €.
